Much more than a glorified user manual May 13, 2009

So many of these types of books are nothing more than a paraphrased version of the user manual. This book is not one of those. The author details the features of this awsome camera using visual examples, photography science/theory, personal preferences and well-placed humor. He takes a considerable foray into the theory behind the features and techniques, allowing the beginning-to-intermediate photographer to learn the basic essences of photography. The language is easy enough that even a beginner will walk away with a trove of knowledge.
If you can find a color version of the book, it would no doubt be more helpful, as some of the visuals seriously require it to glean the most from the lessons. Still, even in B&W, this book is a winner!
